Dubbing themselves as the "World Famous and Internationally Traveled Screwbirds", this squadron hunted submarines from 1960 until 1975, first on the Grumman S-2EG Tracker and then on the Lockheed S-3A Viking.
The 33rd's squad logo is a simple display of a sharp-nosed bird standing at attention and facing left. A disproportionately large screw is seemingly held in place along the far side of the bird's body.
