Oftentimes, military aircraft nose art is sinister. This one, though, embraces the humorous side of life in a bomber crew, complete with a dollop of humility. It comes from a B-52G that flew in the 320th and 43rd Bomb Wings. Today, you can see the original nose art on display in the Cold War Gallery at the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio.
Express Delivery shows a comical pony rider, hailing from the famous Pony Express and waving a worn cowboy hat. The art is goofy and whimsical. And the men who flew that B-52 may have been also, but when they meant business, they meant business.
