Flying the B-24 Liberator throughout the African and European Theater of Operations, the 461st Bombardment Squadron was a heavy bombing group that focused on the targeting of communication centers and industrial factories. Other objectives included aircraft centers and oil supplies. While later in the war, gun batteries and troop encampments were the main objectives, including aerial drops of much-needed supplies to prisoner-of-war facilities.
Atop a clouded perch way up high in the sky, and sporting a cowboy hat while twirling a pistol, the elephantine mascot with mega ears as big as the wings on a B-24, not unlike the flapping ears as large as Dumbo's, smiles as it throws a constant flow of aerial bombs upon the enemy's fortifications far below. While its right arm throws the bombs, the left paw grabs another fresh new bomb from a pile of replenishment ordnance conveniently placed beside him.
