The T-6 Texan-ready to fly!
The T-6 Texan occupies a unique place in aviation history. Few other aircraft are responsible for showing more military pilots how to fly than the Texan and its Navy counterpart, the SNJ. Used as an advanced trainer throughout the Second World War and beyond, the T-6 was capable of impressive aerobatics and inverted flight. Fitted with a powerful 600hp Pratt & Whitney Wasp radial engine and enormous two-bladed prop, the T-6 was often a new fighter pilots introduction into high-performance airplanes. The T-6 demanded-and got-respect. Even today, you can still feel the rumble of the T-6s massive engine on the airshow and race circuit.
