The 313th Tactical Fighter Squadron started life as a pursuit squadron, then later became a training group, and later assigned as an operational combat unit. Throughout their history, the 313th were all kinds of lean and mean with their P-51 Mustangs, P-40 Warhawks, and P-47 Thunderbolts.
At one time, shortly after D-Day in Normandy, the pilots of the 313th took to the skies to pursue and pick fights with the enemy pilots, while bombing armored formations, taking out bridges, and attacking troop encampments.
Our pilots of the 313th gave all they had during each pitched battle, tearing up the enemy with such skill in aerial fight maneuvers that it probably seemed like a cakewalk.
When the enemy sees our intimidating bulldogs, there’s no doubt about the inevitable outcome. The USA will achieve victory with dogged determination, relentlessly chewing up the enemy with its powerful crushing jaws and terrible teeth. See the red collar with spikes? That’s an obvious warning that we’ve got offensive weapons pointed seemingly in all directions, 360 degrees all around us. There’s no place to hide, no quarter given.
